    Notes:

This is the Peter that died in Albany Twp during an Indian attack.

Like theother Peter Gluck listed here, I don't really think these people
are related (Matteas, Peter Gluck, etc.). But making them look like
brothers means I can print it all out easily.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Notes on Peter Kluck of Berks:

1754 tax list, Windsor Twp, Peter Klucke, $10.2.6

    at Moselem:
Johan Peter Gluck, sp 1748 to Johannes Hassinger and Maria Catharine Reiner

Note, a Peter Gleck, survey of 30A, 28 May 1752

Anna Maria Klucken, confirmed 1755in Windsor by Rev Schumacher (note says
    later killed by Indians)

Peter Klug, sp Mar 1755 to Philipp Hinckell and Catharina, baptized in Windsor
(note says his wife killed by the Indians)

Listed in The Allemaengel Road (from Berks County Genealogy Society):
March, 1756, died, Peter Kluck and family, Albany

Estate records of 18 May 1756 to Lawrence Rodarmell, Leonhard Reaver [Reber],
and Peter Duncleberger of Windsor Twp, admin of Peter Gluck of the same place.
    (Lawrence Rodarmell, a principal creditor).

Estate records of 5 Mar 1759 to Peter Rodarmel of Maiden Creek (Lawrence is decd),
Peter Dunkelberger of Windsor and Peter Haas of Reading, admin of
Peter Gluck of Windsor Twp, weaver.

Inventory 6 Jul 1774 shows land sold for a small amount that covers expenses and
the trouble of performing the inventory with little left over. No heirs mentioned.

So it appears to me that Peter Klock of Berks County had no heirs.

    * note, Johannes Gluck/Klock of Allemengal shows up in Schumacher's records in
latter 1760s. He was a different immigrant. Will of John 1780/3 mentions wf
Magdalena and eldest sons George and Philip. Also children Daniel,
Henry, Frederick, and Peter (last two get farm after wife dies).

Peter married Wife1 UNKNOWN Bef 1738, Germany. Wife1 was born Abt 1718, Germany; died Abt 1755, Albany Twp, Berks Co, PA. [Group Sheet]

(these Klock's move from Montgomery County to Lehigh at about the same time that
Henrich and Peter seem to move north. Interesting...)

Klock, Kluck, Glock, Gluck, Clock, Cluck (Kloch, Kluk)

This relationship isbased on indirect evidence. I don't believe Peter is
a son of Peter Klock whose house and family were burned by Indians in Berks
County. Rather, his association with Heinrich, wf Anna Maria, who
was confirmed at Falkner Swamp, seems more appropriate. See birth records
for Peter and Heinrich at Longswamp. Even without forcing the issue on who Peter's
father is, the question would remain - "who is this Matteus Klock with son Henrich
Klock, who is very close to Peter Klock?" For that reason, I think future research
should concentrate here rather than relying on supposed family traditions.

    who is this:

    Peter Kleg and Maria Elisabeth:

    #######################################################
Note: buried at Jordan, Maria Margaretha (nee Gluck), wife of Heinrich Strauss
26 Jun 1775-31 Jul 1849 (probably from the Glick family of that area)

    #######################################################
********** sequence Peter and Henrich show up:
Henrich confirmed in 1764, "son of Matteus" in Montgomery County
Peter meets and marries Margaretha Druckenmiller in Upper Milford, 1766
Henrich gets married c1768. Lives in Montgomery Co (?)
Henrich moves to E District Twp, Berks Co c1773
Peter lives in Longswamp by 1779
Henrich follows him to Longswamp, c1780

Since Henrich's confirmation says Matteus' son, it seems as though the father
was alive and living in Montgomery Co (or Berks?). This is the only record of
Matteus and makes me wonder if the translation could be flawed. The sons seem
to move on after this. One thought is that there may have been sisters,
possibly the women in the sponsor lists. Or maybe atteus had a different last
name and was a step father (though others are so marked). Or the same, but
Matteus was in fact the man's last name?)

I'm not entirely convinced that the3 brothers theory is correct either (that there
were three brothers with one going to NY and one to Canada). That seems to be the
old mistake of knowing that there were Klocks in those three locations and then
suggesting that the three brothers came over and spread out, accounting for all
    the various lines.

Note: John Klock Jr had a son Matthias Klock in 1818, bap at Howerters
(the only Matthias/Matteus shown baptized in these church records)

Probably not atypo, but there is a Mattheus Fluck and Mariga having Philip
Jacob in 1783 atNew Bethel, Greenwich

    http://genforum.genealogy.com/klock/

Note that thefirst record for Peter Klock is in the English Translation as "Peter Plock".
I had thought it was just copied wrong. Did he change his name? There's
a Mathias Plogger at Germantown in 1759 (I doubt this but recording it anyways).

From History of Northumberland County, pg 357:
KLOCKS. The first ancestor of this old family in America was Peter Klock,
a German by birth, who came to this country about 1750. His first location was
somewhere in Berks county, in the Province of Pennsylvania, according to some
in Bern township, according to others near Womelsdorf, and again in Oley
township. It is probable that the last named location is more nearly the
    correct one.

At any rate, Oley township was the homeof one Peter Kluck in
1756, on March 24th of which year the house of Peter Kluck, about fourteen
miles from Reading, was set on fire by the savages, and the whole family
killed. (Berks County History, 1909, says Peter Kluck and family, of Albany,
were killed by the Indians in March, 1756.) While the flames were still
ascending the Indians made an assault upon the house of one Linderman, in which
there were two men and one woman, all of whom ran upstairs, where the woman was
killed by a shot which went through the roof.

John Peter Klock, the ancestor of the Klocks in Northumberland county of
whom we write, was born Jan. 1, 1743, and as tradition has it that he came to
America when seven years old - this substantiates the date of 1750 for the
emigration of Peter Kluck, whom the Indians killed. Rupp's History makes the
statement that the "whole family was killed," which is probably inaccurate, as
John Peter Klock is said to have been and undoubtedly was a son of Peter
Kluck. He died Dec. 9, 1817, aged seventy-five years, less twenty four days.

His wife, Margareda, born April 10, 1747, died April 4, 1832. They

John married Margaretha DRUCKENMILLER 1766, Upper Milford Twp, Lehigh Co, PA. Margaretha (daughter of Johan Sebastian TRUCKENMÜLLER and Catharine SCHAMBACH) was born 10 Apr 1747, Upper Milford Twp, Lehigh Co, PA; died 4 Apr 1832, Upper Mahantongo Twp, Schuylkill Co, PA; was buried Howerter's Church, Upper Mahanoy Twp, Northumberland Co, PA. This is definitely the fatherof Elizabeth Klock who married Daniel Herb since
that adminstration of John'sestate was given to the son-in-law Daniel Herb.

I wonder who were the otherchildren of John Jr. The estate of Daniel Herb
Jr (see Schuylkill Deed 109:110) mentions children:
John Smith and Judith his wife
Gideon W. Snyder and Catharine K his wife
Daniel Neishwender and Rebecca his wife
Franklin K. Herb and Lydia Ann his wife
Charles K. Herb and Magdalena his wife [heir of Charles K desc I think]
    all of Schuylkill Co
and Isaac Snyder of Northumberland Co and Elisabeth his wife
to Samuel K Herb of Schuylkill Co.

The deed goes on todescribe the John Klock land that falls to these people
(via Daniel Herb Jr) and says that the first party is selling their "six ninths" part.
So that means that with Samuel, that is only 7/9ths and there are two other
heirs to the land. I'm guessing they're the descendents of John Klock, Jr.
Possibly Peter F. Klock and John F. Klock??

The descendants of David [?] Klock reside in the northwestern part of Schuylkill
county and in Washington and Jackson townships, Northumberland county.

I suspect that Nathan Zerfing married Judith Klock, d/o David (see them together
at Howerters in 1831) and they all went to Iowa together.

David married Elisabeth UNKNOWN Bef 1818, PA. Elisabeth was born 15 Oct 1786, PA; died 28 Jun 1854, Cedar Co, IA; was buried Sandhill Cemetery, Center, IA. [Group Sheet]

From History of Northumberland County, pg 357:
In the foregoing account Valentine Klock, the ancestor of the Klocks to
which this article is specially devoted, is given as a son of John Peter Klock.
According to another account he was probably a son of David Klock, Sr. He was
born March 27, 1786, lived in Jackson township, and was a blacksmith and
farmer, owning a tract of many acres, which has since been divided into
different farms. Felix Klock, one of his grandsons, owns forty acres of this
old homestead. Valentine Klock was engaged in blacksmithing near Mahanoy. He
died Sept. 11, 1870, and is buried at St. Peter's Church, at Mahanoy, of which
he was a Lutheran member. His wife, Maria Zerbe, was born Oct. 17, 1788, and
died May 30, 1866. They had children as follows: Felix died unmarried; Peter
lived near Mahanoy Church on the farm now owned by Felix Klock (he married
Esther Schlegel and their children were John, Daniel, Frank, Joseph, David,
Harriet, Clinton and Andrew); John is mentioned below; Daniel settledin
    Illinois; Rebecca married a Mr. Krebs and they also located in Illinois;
Catharine married Jacob Zerfing and they lived in Washington township, this
county; Sallie married John Schlegel; Judith died unmarried.

Valentine married Maria ZERBE Abt 1810, Northumberland Co, PA. Maria was born 17 Oct 1788; died 30 May 1866. [Group Sheet]
