On 19 January 1816, John Mixsell, eldest son of Michael Mixsell, Chestnuthill,
yeoman, deceased, filed a petition in orphans court to partition or evaluate
Michael's land. The petition stated that Michael died on or about 3 October
1814 leaving a widow Catharine and eight children; John, Christina intermarried
with George Hern, Margaret intermarried with Henry Renner, Catharine
intermarried with David Hutmacher, Michael, George, Melchior, and Peter (the
last three children being minors).

Notes:

Barnet, son of the farmer of "Meixell Valley", was born in 1833 on the
homestead in Monroe Co., and became a farmer, thus following in the footsteps
of hisfather. He was at one time proprietor of the hotel at Stricklerstown.
His political affiliations were with the Democrats, but he could never be
persuaded to accept office. In 1862 he enlisted in Company A, One Hundred and
Sixty-ninthRegiment Pennsylvania Volunteers, and served with honor in several
battles. In the spring of 1865, while serving in the army, he was attacked with
hospitalfever, and in the autumn of that year, died in an army hospital in the
south,thus giving his life for his country. (From pg. 464 of Volume I of
"Historic Homes and Institutions and Genealogical and Personal Memoirs of The
Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania", 1905)

Calvin was baptized at St. Matthew's Union Church. The sponsors were his
parents.

In 1906-1907 Calvin, a carpenter, was living at 310 E. Garrison St., Bethlehem.
On his mother's deathcertificate in 1921, his address was 716 High St.,
Bethlehem. He later lived at 739 Center St., Bethlehem.

Calvin was employed in the offices of the Weston Dodson Company. He was
affiliated with Captain Owen Luchenbach Camp, No. 182, Sons of Union Veterans,
of which he was a past commander. He was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical
Congregational Church.

Calvin died at his home, 739 Center St., Bethlehem. (Obit in newspaper 21 July
1932)

After Calvin died, his widow, Laura, lived at 1220 W. Union Blvd., Bethlehem.

Calvin and his wife, Laura, are buried in Memorial Park Cemetery; mausoleum
crypts #16 & #17. Calvin's obituary and the plaque on his mausoleum crpyt show
he was born 13 September 1872. However, his baptismal record shows he was born
13 September 1871.

Calvin married Laura Agnes HEINEY 26 Apr 1893, Cambden, NJ. Laura was born 4 Jan 1875, Eldred Twp, Monroe Co, PA; died 20 Apr 1944, Bethlehem, Northampton Co, PA; was buried 24 Apr 1944, Bethlehem, Northampton Co, PA. [Group Sheet]

Bruella was married to Henry D. Frantz at Salem Union Church at Gilbert, PA by

In 1891 Bruella and her husband, Henry a farmer, were living at Kunkletown. By
1932 they had moved to Allentown, PA.

Bruella and her husband are buried in St. Matthew's Church cemetery.
