    History of Lycoming County, pg 1019, says Peter Bastian was born in Lehigh County
    (incorrect, but a common mistake). died 1848, had farm along Loyalsock Creek (correct).
    wife was Estehr Artly of Lehigh County (not sure).

    Here's the text:
    Peter Bastian: born in Lehigh county (PA), moved to Union county (PA), then to Lycoming
    in 1812. He purchased a farm on Loyalsock Creek where he lived until his death. Also
    built a hotel in Clinton TWP (now Armstrong); died in 1848. He m. Esther Artly, a
    Lehigh native who d. in 1852. He was a Whig in politics and a deacon in the
    Lutheran church. Reared a fam. of 10 children, three of whom are living:
    Josephine (who m. John Bubb); Margaret (who m. John Bruner); and John S.
    (goes on to say John S was bornin 1823 in what is now Armstrong Twp)
