Notes:

Mark Fox was born about 1761 in Shenandoah Co, Virginia. He married 5 June 1785 Ann Baughman . In late 1786 or early 1787 he and his brother Adam moved to Sevier County, Tennessee, where he had visited earlier. He was killed and scalped by Indians on the banks of Muddy Creek, Sevier County, June 21, 1787. His headstone is the oldest in Fox Cemetery.Ann remarried 19 Jul 1797 David Shaw. Mark's only child was Catherine Fox was born 26 March 1786 in Shenandoah Co, VA, and died 18 Jul 1877 in Harrison Co, Indiana. She married about 1803 Jesse Shields who was born 10 Mar 1782 Rockingham Co VA, son of Robert and Nancy Stockton Shields, died 16 Sep 1848 Harrison Co, Indiana.
