      NOTES by Laura Clinton Vasut, November 2002:
      It appears that Mahala died sometime after Evaline’s birth in 1842 and William remarried Nancy Etherton in 1845. The first child listed in the Bible, possibly Martha but hard to read, is not listed in this household. Mary, Louisa, and Evaline probably all belong to Mahala and the last child Jane probably belongs to Nancy. It is likely that Hannah is the mother of William.
      Mary Ann Jenkins married Wesley Bodine around 1855 and was widowed. She married my gg-grandfather Calvin Clinton on September 4, 1859. Mary died January 11, 1905 and she is buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery beside Calvin.
