      Alma HENDERSON

      Alma Smith Henderson Was born on July 30,1905 and died on July 11, 2001,
      after a long illness in Forwood Manor Health Care Center, Wilmington, DE.

      Alma was raised in Wilmington by Catherine and Elmer Hare. She married
      William A. Smith, Sr. and bore 2 children. Mr. Smith preceded her in death
      in 1965 and her son William predeceased her in 1993.

      Alma was confirmed as a young girl in Calvary Episcopal Church at 4th and
      Rodney Sts. She was very active over the years, becoming a choir member
      and servingon the altar guild. She became a member of Saint Barnabas
      Episcopal Church when Calvary disbanded.

      Mrs. Henderson in addition to being a homemaker was anexecutive
      secretary for Dravo Shipbuilding and Belanca Aircraft, she was alsoa
      graduate of Wilmington High School.

      Alma enjoyed travel going many places in the past years. She was also an
      avid gardener and never gave up her love for flowers.

      She married James J. Henderson in 1975 and enjoyed many years together
      in their Wilmington home and in their summer home in Ocean View, DE; their
      beloved cat "Sugar" was always by her side.

      Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kathryn S. Schreiner of Claymont;
      a grandson, Ronald M. Schreiner and his wife Betty of PA; 4 great grandchildren
      and 6 great great grandchildren.

      Services will be Monday, July 16th at 11 am in the Saint Barnabas Episcopal
      Church, 2800 Duncan Rd. Friends may call Monday morning from 9:30-10:30 am
      in the MCCRERY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 3924 Concord Pike, Talleyville.
      Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

      Contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 2515 Silverside Rd., Wilmington,
      DE 19810 or to Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church, 2800 Duncan Rd., Wilmington,
      DE 19808.
