  I have my "Sassemanhausen" children (ones I think were Sassemanhausens) under Johannes for now. I did have them under George Sassemanhausen before. estate uses "Sassaman" What links them to John? Right now, only that Peter Maurer was a sponsor to Frederick Kramer. 1754 tax list, Greenwich 1767 tax list, Greenwich, 150A, 3H, 3C, 5S, $8 1784 tax list, Greenwich, 199A, 2H, 4C, 8S 1800 census, Berks, pg 582, 10010-21010-10 (John Sassaman) (Colebrookdale!) M Magdalena 1749, sp Maria Mechtel (Falckner Reformed) sp -> 1758, Philip Sohns and Anna Barbara (Kern) (at Moselem) sp -> 1764, Heinrich Adam Muller and Gertraut [Sasseman d/o George?] (?this John) 1758 sponsorship says "Johnannes Sasseman and wf Mar. Elis. (Vignoicavia) and Ana Maria Kernin" what is Vignoicavia? will mentions wf Elisabeth decendents of Catharine (when 21) (I think she was alive in 1800) decendents of decd Magdalena (when 21) (I think she was decd in 1800) decendents of decd Maria (when 21) 3 yet living daughters: Maria Elisabeth Margaretha Elisabeth s-i-l Frederick Kramer s-i-l Michael Sharrer [and Margaretha] 1782 (it would appear that Peterwould have been a son, but since he disappears, he may have died without heirs?) I have the English and German versions. In the German, it looks like gestorben (dead) before Magdalena and Maria, but in front of Catharine, it's hard to see. The ink is smudged, but it looks like just "Ereben von meine dochter Catharine". The English translation only had decd in front of the name Maria. The spaces around the blobs in "von mein" do not look like the writer's "verstorbene" hoops for the 's' and 'b' could really be there (that is, I don't believe it could be verstorbene instead of von meine) Inventory has a bond, money owed to a John Maurer http://genforum.genealogy.com/sassaman/
