  Note - I have her born in Germany, but based on the lenght of a boat trip, one might think she was born at sea. That assumes that this Catharine is the daughter of Johannes Sassemanausen. Note: I'm just guessing she's a Sassamenhausen. I see the sponsors and it makes me wonder. So this is a working theory only - no strong data or feelings on this one. consider: the only Sassamenhausen's at either Neffs or Heidelberg are Peter and Maria Magdalena Sassamanhausen there for an Adam Maurer baptism (ie they seem to be visiting to a church outside of where they live. that Peter Maurer disappears from here and one reappears at Moselem with a Sassemenhausen. That is it seems that Peter later married a Sassemenhausen. His wife dies and he remarries which is consistent with John's daughter Magdalena being dead when his will was made in 1801. Peter then has sponsors of Frederick Kramer (known son-in-law of John S.) and Elisabeth Sasseman (a known name of a daughter of John) Jacob Maurer also ends up in Greenwich Twp (where John S. lived). ###### Mary, I went to the PA Room earlier today and this is what I found on the Slagles Tim was interested in. Christopher Storm born July 4, 1747 died Sept 12, 1831 at 84y 3m8d buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery no obit listed his wife Catharine born about 1747 died Feb 2, 1829 at 81y 4m 3d buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery obit has her listed as Mrs. Christian (Catharine) Slagle, Adams Co, in the "Hanover Guardian" dated Feb 10, 1829, died Feb 2nd at 82y "John" George born July 5, 1777 died Apr 28, 1851 at 73y 9m 23d buried at Mt.Olivet Cemetery no obit listed wife Catharine Barbara born Sep 14, 1774 died Aug 21, 1855 at 80y 11m7d buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery obit has her listed Catharine Barbara, Adams Co., died Aug 21st 80y 11m 7d, in "Hanover Spectator" Aug 31, 1855 I did not make copies of the obits. Didn't know if Tim wanted them or not. I do havecopies on the info listed above. I can give you those on Friday if needed. I went to the Mt.Olivet Cemetery two summers ago. I saw Henry Slagle's tombstone. There were others there too but I don't remember who they were. Christopher, George and their wives may be right there with him. I remember reading about a mausoleum put up for the Slagle's themselves or put up in their memory. Can't remember. I saw the mausoleum and it is very near where Henry is buried. All you have to do is turn around from Henry's and you'll see it. This should help Tim Diane note - in LDS records, a Catharine Sassaman married a Jacob Keeley in 1779, Berks (who is this?) (no, that is d/o Hermanus, married Jacob Kuehly at Falk. Swamp Ref)
