On 19 January 1816, John Mixsell, eldest son of Michael Mixsell, Chestnuthill, yeoman, deceased, filed a petition in orphans court to partition or evaluate Michael's land. The petition stated that Michael died on or about 3 October 1814 leaving a widow Catharine and eight children; John, Christina intermarried with George Hern, Margaret intermarried with Henry Renner, Catharine intermarried with David Hutmacher, Michael, George, Melchior, and Peter (the last three children being minors).
