Regarding theJacob Wehry who supposedly came from a family in Germany - I've looked at theevidance and found it wanting. The version I've seen includes -"immigrantsrecorded on the Saint Andrew Galley were males 16 years of age or over and this Jacob was 13" - "Johann Jacob was born 9 December 1724" - "no record of Johann Jacob leaving Germany has been found" -"left for Carolina" I think forinconsistancies found, rather compelling evidance would be required to overcome these difficulties. Basically, I don't see a reason to doubt that if the ship list says Jacob was 16 and over, that we should discount that. I propose amore likely birth year of about 1717. I think we should continue the search for Jacob's parents.
