Notes - "Our ancestors in Steffisburg were also thoroughly committed to
the Anabaptists. The brothers Jost and Nicolaus Joder
were married to two cousins, both named Anna
Trachsel. The marriages of both pairs took place on 14 October
1642. The children and grandchildren of both couples were
committed to Anabaptism, as were their spouses.
On Oct. 14, 1642 Brothers Jost and Nicholas Joder married
cousins named Trachsel in Steffisburg. These two brothers
are the progenitors of the Oley Yoder line, and through a
number of Anabaptist sons in each family are believed likely
ancestors of the Amish and Mennonite Yoders.
