Minnie M. Rothermel
Minnie M. Rothermel, 88, formerly of RR1 Herndon, died Wednesday afternoon
at ManorCare Health Services, Sunbury, where she had been a patient since
April 10, 2000.
Born in Upper Mahanoy Township, Leck Kill, Nov. 21, 1913, she was a daughter
of the late James E. and Mary E. Kieffer Hoch. Prior to entering ManorCare,
she lived at Riverfront Apartments, Front Street, Sunbury for 10 years.
She was a retired employee of the former Muskin Shoe Co., Millersburg.
She was a member of Himmel's Lutheran Church, Rebuck, where she
hadbeen a choir member and had been active with Women of ELCA and
kitchen and quilting committees. She was a former member of Herndon
Area Senior Citizens andIdella Rebekah Lodge 58, RR1 Dornsife.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen R., on May 23, 1979; a
sister, Stella Endleblute; five brothers, Harlan, Allen, Edwin, Lawrence and
Levi H. Hoch.
Surviving are four sisters-in-law, Hilda Hoch, Leck Kill, Elva Hoch,
Selinsgrove, Grace Hoch, Lebanon, and Dorothy Wolfe, RR1 Dornsife;
a brother-in-law, Lee Rothermel, Elliottsburg; nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Himmel's Church. The Rev.
Frederick Faust will officiate. Interment will be in Himmel's Cemetery,
Rebuck. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RR1 Klingerstown, is in
charge of arrangements.
