  The next generation back is only speculation, If anyone has more information, please let me know. Acording to the Sevier county Census' William's mother is Rebecca Lafollett and he had a brother named Harvey who was a few years older. The 1840 and 1850 census shows that Rebecca either lived with Elizabeth (Gann) Lafollett or lived on the property. The relationship of Rebecca Lafollett with George and Elizabeth Lafollett is unknown. By 1860 Cenus Rebecca is living with her son William R. Lafollett often spelled Follett. William Riley lived to ripe old age, passing away in 1923., still living on his farm in Sevier county TN. He is buried in Providence Church cemetery which was relocated to higher ground, just before the Tennessee Valley Authority flooded the bottom land farms to create hydro electric dams in Sevier County, TN. The dam area was renamed Douglas lake and recreational park. The grave sites are still visible but a boat is need to access the land where they lay, located in the new Providence Cemetery grave yard. All of my local relatives believed that the Lafollette graves are under water at Douglas Lake, and never realize that they can visit them.
