Generation: 1

  1. 1.  Hans George (Jerk) TRAUT was born Abt 1675, Germany (son of Father TRAUT); died 2 Aug 1745, Germantown, Philadelphia Co, PA.

    Other Events:

    • Probate: 3 Aug 1745, Philadelphia Co, PA
    • Will: 2 Aug 1745, Philadelphia Co, PA
    • _UID: EC81839BBB1745E986141DD6C92BEBBDB4CC

    Notes:

I think that this is the Traut who appeared in Lambsheim with Johannes and
came to America c1719. He remarried when he got here in Philadelphia
and then moved on to Germantown with the rest of his family.

I'm showing that George doesn't seem active with the Brethren, but
his children may have been involved.

Children born in Germany with first wife Anna Maria
    John 1699
Anna Maria 1702, sp John Trout

Children with second wife (assuming) Sarah:
?? guessingyounger daughters might be listed by name in will.

a worker in Germantown in 1724, Hans Jerk Trout

1734 taxlist, Germantown, George Trout $28 (see PA Gen Soc Vol I)

    ****************************************************************** Ideas:
    1) George is a son of early immigrant John. But that John should have his eldest
son being John, born 1799. Perhaps George is the one born 1703 and married at age
17? Then Philip would have been younger yet, born after 1709, perhaps 1710?

    2) George is a much younger son of John Henry. Younger so that he wasn't
included in the land dealings and too young for inclusion inthe early lists
of Trouts at Germantown. Note that Baltzer Trout was a witness to his will,
so he seems to have some connection to this family. The witness can't have
an interest in the will - he could be a brother or cousin, but not a son of George.

    3) This is really old George, brother of John. He remarried in 1720
    ** using this theory now

    4) George is a cousin that just came over later?
    ***************************************************************************
the book with the newspapers (?), pg 1342 says he died 26 sep 1745.But
that would be before his will was written? where did he die?

    ***** will
will of George Troud, Philadelphia Co, Yeoman, mentions children:
wife Cassie (not shown in abstract)
    Leaney (Elean? Eleanor?)
    Catherine
    Henry
5 other children (although this is not shown in abstract)
Exec, John Frederick Ax (Ochs) and Richard Rubb
Wit: John Baltzer Troud and Godfrey Geyger

    ***** Other George Trouts:

At St. Michaels in 1751, Johannes, s/o Hans Jurg Trauts andChristina,
sp Johannes Negele and wf Eva Cathrina

Note also that the witnesses at Baltzer Traut's wedding in 1755 include
Georg Traut and Jeremias Traut(but this George had died in 1745, so who
is that?) This is at St.Michaels.

***** Notes on people in will
Note - a Frederick Oss appears to be a neighbor of Philip Traut of Cocalico.
Frederick Ax appears to be an executor for several people in Germantown at the
    time.

Note - a Jacob Traut (immig 1749) married Maria Eva Rupp in 1735. (note Rubb above)

    Notes:

the organization of this family is purely speculative and arranged for my convenience
in research. I'm guessing that the Trauts that stayed in Germantown proper were the
children of Baltzer Trout Sr. The others seem to fit here under George. I'm not convinced that Jeremiah had any kids.

    spelling: Traut, Trout, Draut, Drout
    misspelling: Kraut?
