Sebastian Werner was born 20 Jan 1731 in Singen (Remchingen) in Baden
between Karlsruhe and Pforzheim. He was the only surviving child of two
children born to Michael and Maria Catharina (Schaller) Werner. Michael
died in Singen on 21 Mar 1733 leaving his widow and their one son.
Shortly thereafter, in 1737, the widow Catherine Worner of Singen, with
her son Sebastian requested consent to emigrate. "The mother had no
inheritance, and received consent, but not the son."
