In august 1747 the bilander Vernon arrived in Philadelphia and the name of "Samuel Witmer" appears on the passanger list along with other families from Herbitzheim. Catherina Witmer must havebeen born in Pennsylvania, her baptismal record does not appear in the Herbitzheim churchbook. page 92.
