Nelson ran a saw mill near Point Nelson Hotel in Eldred Twp. around 1870. He
wasalso listed as a hotelkeeper in Eldred Twp. in 1870. In 1864 he was
appointedCounty Commissioner in Monroe Co. In 1868 he served as school
director. In 1886 he was the owner of a store at Kunkletown, PA.

Nelson left a will naming his heirs as Terrabius H., Wilson H., Sarah wife of
Joseph Andrew, Mary wife of Howard Meixell, and Richard Heffelfinger. The will
also mentions his deceased daughter Malissa. (Monroe Co. estate file #1427, will
book 7, p. 320)

Nov 1860. Final account lists widow, Mary, and 12 surviving children: Elias,
George, Henry, Barnet, Thomas, Michael, William, Lavina Derhammer,Catharine
Flyte, Margaret Mansfield, Sophia Daniel and Juliann Mixsell. Widowreceived

David and his family lived in Ross Twp., Monroe Co., PA in the portion of that
township that became Eldred Twp. in 1851.

David died intestate in Ross Twp., Monroe Co., PA. On 26 March 1839 his widow,
Susanna, signed a bond to administer his estate. The courthouse documents
mention that David left eleven children including John, David Jr., Caroline,
Sally, and Conrad. The other children are not named. (Monroe Co. estate file
#24)

David's burial location is not known. He is most likely buriedin St. Matthew's
Union Church cemetery with no tombstone on his grave since his wife, Susanna,
is buried there also.
