Conrad Hartlein wasn't the son of Friedrich Hartlein and Maria Barbara. He was an
Eberlein. Consider these records at Oley Hill:
1761, J. Friederich Eberlein and Maria Barbara Steinbrenner, sp to J. Jacob Steinbrenner
1762, Friederich and Maria Barbara Hartlein, sp Leopold Gross and wf
1764, Friederich and Maria Barbara Eberlein, sp Valentin Gross and wf
1767, Friederich and Maria Barbara Eberlein, sp Jacob Steinbrenner and Anna Eva

Conrad's age is based on being a sponsor in 1791, figuring about age 20.

Release 27 Sep 1838, Conrad Hartlein, lateof Centre Twp, Union Co, PA died leaving

Conrad married Elisabetha MOSER 4 Mar 1800, Schwartzwald Reformed Church, Exeter Twp, Berks Co, PA (Rev Boos). Elisabetha (daughter of Johannes MOSER and Anna Maria HÜTER) was born 7 Sep 1781, Earl Twp, Berks Co, PA; died Aft 1836, Upper Mahantongo Twp, Schuylkill Co, PA. [Group Sheet]

    Notes:

estate of Conrad Hartlein mentions "widow"

Dr. Hartlein has a "Elizabeth Hartlein" 1758 - 6/10/1841, at Reeds Church
(same place as George, s/o Conrad).I wonder if the date 1758 is really on
it or if it's an age that was misread. There doesn't seem to be anyone that
fits that name and age in this family. My guess is it's really a stone for Elisabeth,
w/o Conrad, who came to live with George or Rebecca. Need to see stone
to prove (Elisabeth would have been 59 at the time of her death then).
Daughter Rebecca is also buried at Reeds.

What other Elizabeth Hartlein would be buried at Reeds? (Elisabeth, wife of
George Hartlein's grand-uncle Leonard Hartlein's wife?). Given that Conrad and
Elisabeth had just moved out to Snyder County when he died, it would seem
that Elisabeth would have more "support" back in eastern PA.

Or did she remarry and stay in Snyder Co?
    Hetrick, Elizabeth, w of Henry, d Nov 5, 1862, aged 79 y 2 m 6 d.

  1. 4.  George Lorentz HÄRTLEIN was born Abt 1734, Weigenheim, Germany (son of Michael HÄRTLEIN and Eva BREHM); died Aft 1806, Earl Twp, Berks Co, PA.

    • Immigration: 10 Sep 1737, PA ("Molly")
    • _UID: 43863FFF57C2453DA3FE2E83A03669EB1E3C

    Notes:

Note: After much research, it appears that George Lorentz is the father of the
older Hartlein children that show up at Oley Hill, by his first wife Elisabeth Bohm.
Both process of elimination (considering and rejecting alternative hypothesis) and
the close association of these children with Lorentz and each other suggest this
grouping. Since Lorentz did not own any land, he appears to have died without
much legal impact such as land settlement, a will, administration records, etc so
logical reasoning appears the only alternative.

Note: there is a John Hartlein and wf Esther who filed a Caveat 29 Sep 1806
to Jacob Henry's will (of Rockland). Maybe Johanna, child of Lorentz is really
    Johannes??

From History of Berks County, pg 1306 (mixed up compilation of Hartlines at Oley
Church, in my opinion) - this was later reproduced in Floyd's History of Northumberland
County, pg 615, word for word!:

(II) To George [Lawrence] Hartlein and wife were born the following children: Jost (or
Yost), born Jan. 8, 1767, died Dec. 21,1852, aged eighty-five years, eleven months, thirteen days, and is buried at Oley Church; by his side is buried Sarah Hartlein,
born Oct. 18, 1780, died Sept. 24, 1873, aged nintey-two years, eleven months,
six days (It is not known whether she was his wife or his sister). George, Jr was
born Jan. 11, 1781. There were perhaps other children but the names of these two
    alone are of certain record.

(III) George Hartlein, Jr., son of George, was born in Earl township Jan. 11, 1781, and he died Feb. 19, 1865, aged eighty-four years, one month and eight days. He married
Maria Dilleplane (properly spelled De la Plaine), daughter of Frederick Dilleplane,
of French extraction and of an early settled fmaily of Oley township... etc.

Now the version from Floyd's History of Northumberland County:

George; Jr. In 1755 he married Maria Catharine Bochm (Boehm), who was
born in 1730, daughter of Conrad Bochm, a native of Fehrfeld,
Wurtemberg, Germany, bornabout 1705, who came to America in 1732.

George Hartlein and wife had the following children: Jost (or Yost),
born Jan. 8, 1767, died Dec. 21, 1852, andis buried at Oley church, and
    by his side is bub

George married Maria Elisabeth BÖHM Abt 1766, Montgomery Co, PA. Maria (daughter of Conrad BÖHM and Maria Sophia BURCHARD) was born 18 Sep 1743, Berks Co, PA; died Abt 1779, District Twp, Berks Co, PA. [Group Sheet]

being naturalized would suggest Franciscus was foreign born. But if he was born in 1733,
and his father came here in 1729, well, that is the problem.

is Elisabeth a Milot?? Not sure, but nothing strong found.
    some Muthard's at Trappe.

executor for Conrad Bohm's will in 1789. The signature on the inventory, ifit's really a signature, doesn't match that on the ship list of the St. Andrew. The signature on the
will actually looks closer to the ship list, but a little different (Huder vs Hutter?).

I'm guessing she's a Milot for now - no proof but it does seem somewhat
reasonable - working theory for now.

It seems like Frederick Milot would more likely be a contemporary than
the parents of Elisabeth. I think if you don't force the ages backward, it
seems like maybe AdamHuter or his wife *might* be related
as a sibling to the Milots.
