From History of Northumberland County, pg 705:
Taking up the early records of the Conrads, we findthat John
Conrad, the great-grandfather of George M. Conrad owned a farm of some
four hundred acres east of Sunbury. This John Conrad, born Nov. 18,
1777, died June 11, 1839. He married Julian Cooper, who was born June 1,
1778, andlived and died in Augusta township, passing away Dec. 22,
1841, aged sixty-three years, six months, twenty one days. They had
children as follows: Susanna, married Samuel Herb; Ann Maria married
Decaton Herb and had Julia, Maria, Daniel, Decaton (married Mrs. Maria
Dietrich) and Samuel; William married Susan Huey and (second) a Miss
Bartholomew, and had a son George; Eli married Polly Geringer; George
married Hester Reeser; Daniel married a Miss Wolfe; Sarah married Samuel
Garinger; Julia Ann married Henry Gass; Catharine (Kate) married aMr.
Cooper; Elidia married a Mr. Schrader; Molly married William Miller.

Ibelieve the John buried in Sunbury 1808-1837, is a son of this John (who
lived in Sunbury). I've seen the stones and John Jr is buried with his parents.
He died before his parents with no heirs.

John married Julia Ann COOPER Bef 1800, Northumberland Co, PA. Julia was born 1 Jun 1778; died 22 Dec 1841, Northumberland Co, PA. [Group Sheet]

    Name Suffix: Senior

Note that Jacob and some of his kids signed theirnames "Conrath". The spelling
settled on "Conrad" after the second generation.

note - Jacob was in the Reading area before going to Augusta (see notes on
Nicholas). And Jacob Jr was baptized in Reading in 1765. Not in 1767 tax list.

    will 2:179

The following may be really be the Jacob of Montgomery County who shows up once
in Reading. (No, land application shows Jacob of Augusta was in Oley in 1769.)

PA Land Applications: NP-1803, Jacob Conrad of Oley, 3 Apr 1769, for 300 Acres in
Augusta. Survey F-232, and C-61. by Frederick Hill of Oley.

Any relationship between Jacob Conrad and Frederick Hill? They bought
land next to each other at around the same time. Did they live nextto
each other in Berks? Adjoining land is shown on map of Warrnt C-21, pg 192.

Is this the same Jacob? Jacob Conrad application for 100A, Tulpehocken,
Berks, 5 Aug 1765, ES-54 (Jacob of Tulp is probably different, see below)

(1773 is last entry for a Jacob in Oley. However, one also starts in Tulp in 1774.)
(it's not clear who the Jacob Conrad in Tulp was. In 1785, he's listed as a non-resident, suggesting that Jacob lived somewhere else but payed taxes onland
    owned there).

(Jacob of Tulp signed will of Adam Diefenbach, 1772, asJacob Conrad).

deed M:513 has Jacob Conrad selling land to Nicholas Shipman in 1803. Jacob is
"of Augusta" and signs it "Jacob Conrath". a witness is Jacob Conrath Junr.

    will mentions:
    Nicholaus
    Jacob
    Peter
    Henry
    John
    Mary w/of David Mehligh
    Elizabeth w/o Jacob Stenbrook
heirs of Susanna who was w/o George Hall
    Catharine, w/o George Long

The original will is signed "Jacob Conrath" and looks much like the signature of Jacob
Conrath on the Boston in 1764. (compare J and C)

sp - 1765 Adam Schlegel and wf Christina and ForstLudwig

sp (Jacob Conrad and M Margaretha?) -> 1766 Carl Ludwig Boley and Elisabeth
(nope, this is the one from Montgomery Co, PA!)
(But note a J Carl Boley on the Boston in 1764 with Jacob Conrath!)

note a Carl Ludwig Boley is in LDS records of Alsenz, Pfalz, Bayern
worldconnect shows went to Frederick Co, Maryland? (Charles Boley?)

DAR application 718880 (via Peter, Jacob, Daniel, etc) (Patriotic Service)
SAR application 82830 (via John, George, etc) (incorrectly assumes service in Lancaster!)

In PA Magazine of History and Biography, Hist Soc of PA, 1914, Vol XXXVIII, pg 121
3 Jul 1772, Jacob Conrad applies for lot 115 in Sunbury. He needs to take out
a patent and execute a duplicate in usual manner within 6 months from
application, otherwise it's void. He must erect a dwelling house within 3 years,
20 foot square at least, brick or stone chimney. Otherwise the patent is void.

From Floyd's History of Northumberland County, pg 705
...Jacob and Adam Conrad are shown by the records to have
been taxables in Augusta township, Northumberland county, in 1774. In

Jacob married Anna Catharine UNKNOWN Bef 1761, Germany. Anna was born Abt 1742, Germany; died Abt 1803, Sunbury, Northumberland Co, PA. [Group Sheet]

    • _UID: D9DD1C4BF5284E48A7B2257A1AA872B2AEEE

    Notes:

the name Anna Catharine is from the baptism at Reading (since Catharine would
be short for Anna Catharine in the German naming convention). She's mentioned
as just Catharine in 1799 deed.

Catharine signed by the mark "T" on deed L:122 of 1799 when
selling land to their daughter Susanna.

Jacob sold land to Nicholas Shipman in 1805 without his wife's signature, so
presumably she had died by then.

Someone sent me this (need to check my email inbin for source). Not sure if
    it will match up:

"One thing he had was a maiden name for Jacob's wife. He has her as Anna Catharin Hinsberger with a question mark following the name. I don't know if he means the spelling maybe wrong or the entire name. She is listed as dau. of Georg Hinsberger and Elizabeth. He also has a father for Jacob, Peter which could be a good guess given how often Peter turns up in the early Conrad ancestors. He has Peter and Jacob being from Prussia."

A place on the net has this Jacob Conrad m Catharine Hinsberger, child Anne-Marie
