Note: a Samuel Kneisle and Maria Patterson, married 4-14-1813 at Trinity
Lutheran Church, Lancaster, PA!! (Maria Catharine??). What are the chances
that a differentSamuel Kneisle in the same area married a different Patterson girl?

Maybe Samuel married Maria Patterson first, then he married Maria's sister Catharine?
Since I didn't see the original record, maybe the marriage isn't really to "Maria"?

Note - there were Pattersons in Hempfield in 1790 (but can't find in 1800)

    Notes:

There's nothing to tie Clement to the other Patterson family at Trinity Lutheran
(other than proximity and common surname).

Well, other things to consider - the other Pattersons are at a German Lutheran
Church. They have German names like "Johannes".

    1) It seems that Anna and Catharine Patterson, and mother, Widow Margaretha,
are all together at Trinity Lutheran and closely related. Anna seems oldest
and is the first one in the Trinity Records - 1784. Annamarries an English
    man, Catharine, a German one.

    2) Johannes is there. Hewas married at a different church and doesn't
want to attend at Trinity. No connections of him to anyone else.

    3) Clement shows up in 1794 at his marriage to a German girl.

    Notes:

marriage of Margaretha Patterson and Robert Cunningham in 1787
    says "widowed persons"

how confident am I that Margaret at Trinity is the mother of the kids? Or Clement?

how confident am I that Margaret the widow, is a widow of William?

how confident am I that Margaret, widow of William, married Robert Cunningham
and attended Trinity Lutheran? From sponsorship in 1789, maybe she just
attended Trinity and didn't remarry? Or had Robert died and she revertedto her
    original married name?

1800 census, pg 241, Lancaster, Martic, 00010-20010 (Robert Cunningham)

sp -> 1789, John Heilbrunner and Catharine (as Widow Margaretha Patterson)
(but why isn't she listed as Cunningham?)

(and Catharine was sponsor to Anna in 1787)

I have the least confidence that Margaret who married in 1790 is in this family.
