Old Jesse Kerr, b 25 Dec 1789; married to Sarah Miller 1st, and Phoebe Hayes. Jesse died 29 Oct 1872 in Blount Co., TN. Notes:

The 1920 and 1930 census name Aunt Billie Jean as "Willie Rae" Smith.
Billie's invisible friend (ghost story)
According to cousin Billie Jo Smith-Offut. when aunt Billie was very young 3-4 years old, she would laugh and giggle and play with an invisible friend in the back yard for many hours of their farm in Tennessee. This went on for a long time but no one would see this friend but Billie. At first the family thought that it was a part of her imagination, as she was the first living child of Oda and Viola, until one day they asked Billie the name of her friend.
Billie told them her friend's name was Wanda Rue, at that everyone gasped, as Wanda Rue and Addie Gaynola were two gilrs of Oda and Viola that died in infancy before Billie was born.

John A Kerr, who married Lillie Farr, died rather young and leaving her with the 9 children. He was a farmer. They lived in Blount County during their marriage, but Lillie later lived at Fort Wayne, Indiana.

They are the family of Lillie E Kerr's three daughters, Leola, Hazel and Ruth C who have all married within the last two years to their respective husbands. William and John are the two single males and their nephew Bobby L. The only family member not yet followed up on is Jessie who married Willie Keller.

Notes:

My mother's father who I have never met. He died four years after his wife, my grandmother, Hester Viola Lafollette.They lived on the Smith Farm, and is said to be north of Sevierville, Tennessee and a little west on 141 or 411...I can't remember.
according to Sevier County records they were married in 1914. Oda was a farmer, having farmed in several counties finally in Knox Co.

Notes:

Cause of death; cancer. Her beauty, strength and intelligence live on in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
It was said that Hester Viola was not fond of her name and adopted the nick name of "Ola", which is on several legal documents.
On the day that Viola died, she was in very ill from the cancer killing her. Aunt Audrey, Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Annie Hanson-Smith were out on the front porch waiting for the final end, when they saw a cute little lamb sort of floating outside. It turned around and hopped over a semi- transparent fence and disappeared They knew that it was Viola's spirit saying good- bye.
This same event was witnessed by three people. Although this was a farming community in Tennessee there were no known sheep or lambs in the area.
