Arrived in the USA mid to late 1800's- sailed first to Oak Harbor, Ohio then he ard of available work in Pennsylvania Mines thereby, arriving in Ashland, PA. They then moved to Helfenstein where their daughter, Anna, worked as a 'chamber maid' in the Maurer Hotel. This is where she met the Maurer's son Charles and became his wife in 1903.
